Equity & transparency
Our work is underpinned by a commitment to fair processes and open communications
Our commitment to fairness is at the heart of our Grants Strategy. The first of our three funding principles expresses our commitment to:
- Equity of access to grant opportunities
- Transparency about decision-making criteria and processes
- Robust probity measures, including managing conflicts of interest
- Using data to help inform the allocation of industry funding
Probity
Our Probity Policy establishes the ethical behaviours we expect from all parties involved in grant-related activities. This policy applies to all employees, contractors, advisers, board members, and any individuals or entities involved in FCIF grant processes. The conflicts of interest obligations also extend to applicants and grantees.
We adhere to and recognise the following principles to uphold probity:
- Transparency: Ensuring open and clear decision-making processes.
- Accountability: Holding individuals responsible for their actions and decisions.
- Fairness: Treating all applicants equitably based on established criteria & without bias.
- Integrity: Conducting grant processes with honesty and ethical behaviour.
- Confidentiality: Protecting sensitive and personal information.
Equity and transparency in practice
Our approach is brought to life during our grants processes through a range of initiatives, including:
- Publishing Grant Guidelines in advance of every round that outline eligibility, assessment criteria and how decisions will be made
- Open access webinars where we outline the grants application and evaluation process and answer questions
- All information being shared equally with all potential applicants via our FAQs and webinar recordings
- Feedback for unsuccessful applicants published following each round
- Full information about the decisions made and outcomes of each grant round
We are always looking for opportunities to improve our processes and we welcome your feedback on how we're doing.
